Getting Started in Adopt Me!
When you first join Adopt Me!, you’ll go through a short tutorial covering the basics, like hatching your first egg, adopting your first pet, and learning how to care for it. Pet care is the heart of the game, so pay close attention here.
After the tutorial, you can customize your avatar with outfits, hairstyles, and accessories. You can also choose to play as either a baby or a parent. Both roles can be switched at any time via the Dress Up Menu.
Your first big task will be caring for your Starter Egg – feed it, play with it, and keep it clean until it hatches. This will teach you the pet-care system and prepare you for more advanced pets later on.
Adopt Me Basics
Your Backpack
Your backpack is your main inventory. It stores pets, toys, vehicles, food, and more, neatly organized into categories. You can access it anytime via the backpack icon at the bottom of your screen.
Use it to:
- Equip pets
- Switch toys
- Spawn vehicles
- Prepare items for trading
A well-organized backpack makes trading, exploring, and decorating much easier.
How to Earn Bucks (In-Game Currency)
Bucks are the primary currency in Adopt Me! You’ll need them for:
- Buying eggs & pets
- Purchasing furniture & decorations
- Upgrading houses
Ways to earn bucks:
- Complete tasks for your pet and/or baby role
- Play as a baby to earn double rewards (tasks for you + your pet)
- Daily login bonuses for consistent play
- In-game jobs (Salon, Pizza Shop, Hospital) – up to 50 bucks per in-game day (≈10 minutes)
- Daily Task Board challenges for 75-100 bucks
💡 Tip: Don’t waste bucks early on; invest in pets first for better long-term value.
The Nursery & Eggs
The Nursery (central island) is where you buy eggs. Each egg has different costs and chances of hatching rare pets:
- Cracked Egg – cheapest, low rare chance
- Royal Egg – expensive, higher rare chance
- Pet rarities: Common → Uncommon → Rare → Ultra-Rare → Legendary
Your Starter Egg is free, but after that, you’ll need bucks to buy more. To hatch, complete pet needs until it’s ready.
Growing Pets
Pets go through 6 stages:
- Newborn
- Junior
- Pre-Teen
- Teen
- Post-Teen
- Full Grown
Rarer pets require more tasks to grow. Four Full Grown pets of the same type can be combined in the Neon Cave to create a Neon Pet. Four full-grown Neon Pets can be merged into a Mega Neon Pet with glowing effects.
Trading Pets Safely
Trading is a huge part of Adopt Me! To trade:
- Approach another player
- Press E → “Trade”
- Add pets/items to the trade window
- Both players click “Accept” to finalize
Trade safety tips:
- Avoid “trust trades” and too-good-to-be-true offers
- Start with pets/items of similar rarity
- Get a Trade License at the Safety Hub to learn scam prevention

Houses & Decoration
You start with a small Starter House but can upgrade to luxurious homes like Luxury Apartments or a Futuristic House.
To decorate:
- Tap Edit House inside your home
- Change floors/walls
- Place furniture (cribs, bowls, pianos, etc.)
Furniture can’t be moved between houses — plan your design before spending big.
Other Fun Activities
Beyond pets, you can collect:
- Vehicles
- Toys
- Strollers
- Rare accessories
Many can be bought, earned, or found in gift packages with random rewards.
You can also:
- Trade items like pets
- Role-play with friends as family members
- Play minigames like hide-and-seek
